Business Support Manager
The Microfinance Business Support Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple support functions. The role contributes to business growth, operational efficiency, innovation, and high-quality service delivery within Turame Community Finance S.A.
FULL JOB SUMMARY
The Business Support Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple support functions, including Mobile Money, Marketing, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Project Management, and other operational support services. This role ensures that these departments effectively contribute to business growth, operational efficiency, innovation, and high-quality service delivery within the institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote and fulfill the mission, method, and motivation of Turame Community Finance.
Spiritual Integration and Christian Witness
- Personally model Christian behavior to the staff in leadership style, resolution of issues, selection and development of staff, context-appropriate Christian witness with staff, and in setting and leading the spiritual agenda of the organization.
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of the Spiritual Integration Plan for the benefit of clients, staff, and other entities that the organization works with
Business Strategy & Performance Management
- Support the development and execution of institutional strategy and business plans.
- Drive portfolio growth, customer acquisition, and revenue diversification through digital and non-digital channels.
- Monitor overall performance across departments under this role using KPIs and dashboards.
Mobile Money & Digital Financial Services
- Lead the development and growth of mobile money and digital financial services (DFS).
- Oversee partnerships with telecom operators, fintechs, and payment service providers.
- Ensure integration of mobile channels with core microfinance operations (loan disbursement, repayments, savings).
- Work on the integration and monitoring of the Central Bank National Switch and Instant Payment System.
- Monitor transaction volumes, revenues, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with digital finance regulations and security standards
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
- Design and manage L, M&E frameworks for institutional performance and projects.
- Develop indicators, data collection tools, and reporting systems.
- Track operational, financial, and social performance indicators.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management, donors, and stakeholders.
- Use data insights to improve decision-making and impact measurement
Project Management
- Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of strategic projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Develop project proposals, work plans, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with project sponsors’ requirements and standards
Marketing
- Develop and execute the annual marketing plan aligned with business objectives.
- Support market growth initiatives and customer acquisition strategies.
- Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Manage marketing budgets and resource allocation.
- Protect and enhance the company’s brand reputation.
Operations Support Services
- Oversee operational support functions to ensure efficiency across branches.
- Improve internal processes, systems, and workflows.
- Support the Business development team to manage projects with different Turame partners.
- Ensure service quality standards are maintained.
- Promote operational excellence and cost efficiency.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all functions under the Business Support department to comply with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Identify operational, financial, and digital risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Support audits and regulatory reporting.
- Strengthening internal controls across support functions
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Supervise and mentor supervisees.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and innovation.
- Identify training needs and coordinate capacity-building initiatives.
- Promote collaboration across Business Support and Business Development departments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Personal commitment to Turame’s 3M’s – the mission, method, and motivation of Turame Community Finance.Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in microfinance, banking, fintech, or development sector.
- Proven experience in at least two of the following: digital finance or project management.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of microfinance operations and financial inclusion.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extreme flexibility and ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
- Demonstrated desire to help people that have been brought low by war, poverty, or other circumstances regain hope, dignity, and ability to support themselves and their families.
- Creativity and ability to work with limited resources.
- Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively.
- Experience with Microsoft suite, T24, and other software packages, as required.
- Full professional working proficiency in spoken and written French and English
